Longtime journalist Helen Thomas has announced her retirement after her remarks about Israel provoked a minor scandal in Washington. The 89-year-old columnist apologized for saying Jews should leave Palestine, but faced with rebukes from the White House and the Correspondents Association, she decided to resign.
Talking tearfully to some of her coworkers, the woman dubbed the "dean of the White House press corps" said she's regretfully heading back to wherever the hell old people come from.
