A California airport was temporarily shut down Tuesday after security guards discovered five bottles of a "suspicious-looking liquid" in a passenger's luggage. The liquid tested positive for TNT, and when a bottle was opened, two security guards were overcome by fumes and had to be hospitalized.

Eventually it turned out the liquid was honey, and the passenger was released.

Just to be on the safe side, though, today the Department of Homeland Security raised the terror alert level to Clover.

I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of this. In fact,, they just put out an APB for a billion little terrorists who fly from flower to flower. And as we write, they're questioning two old ladies wearing black-and-yellow stripes.

The two security guards who, after smelling the honey, were "overcome by fumes and had to be hospitalized" will have some interesting 'splainin' to do.

The honey was in Gatorade bottles in luggage carried by a Wisconsin gardener, whose contact with fertilizer may have left trace amounts on his luggage that could have set off alert. Highly explosive fertilizer was used in the 1995 bombing of an Oklahoma City federal building that killed 168.
Given that TSA found explosive readings and two employees became nauseous after the substance in one of the bottles reacted with test chemicals, every response by the local authorities afterward was appropriate, officials said.

I think I would have been scared out of my wits, had I seen those bottles and had the alarm go off!
