The Tate Modern has unveiled its latest installation: 4000 square feet of pitch darkness.
The London gallery's Turbine Hall entrance now houses a vast metal container measuring 45 feet in height and 90 feet in length that contains no light whatsoever.
Polish artist Miroslaw Balka describes the pitch darkness of his masterwork as a metaphor for the fragility of life.
Visitors have been quite vocal about the piece, with the vast majority saying, "Fuck! Excuse me. Fuck! Excuse me. Fuck! Excuse me. . . . "
